This
lighthouse and adjoining lighthouse keeper's house were built in 1851. They were
built by William Foale for
Trinity House,
London (the Official Lighthouse Authority). The lighthouse was used as a signal
station for trawlers until 1920. The date of building and the names of wardens
are recorded on a plaque on nearby
Killingholme High
Lighthouse.
