This lighthouse, which marks the southern
entrance to the Firth of Forth and Edinburgh, was deactivated in 2005. It is
situated in a public reserve at East Lothian on the east coast of
Scotland overlooking the North Sea. There is free parking and beach access.
It is located just off the beach and can be viewed at close range from the
surrounding parkland.
The two 1-storey keeper's houses and other
light station buildings are leased as private residences. In 2006 the lighthouse
was sold for more than £100,000 to the Lafarge Company, who already owned the
keeper's houses.
