Angus rock beacon lights the channel in
Strangford Lough. It is located on a low rocky islet off The Narrows, the
entrance to Strangford Lough, southeast of Strangford. It current light was lit
in 1983 and converted to solar power in 2000.
This tower was built as a daymark, probably in
the 19th century, it is mentioned as early as 1885. A 1917 coast pilot said that
the tower was originally intended to be for a lighthouse.
