This view is over the lock and of the bridge and bridge cottage. It is the reverse view of the Flatford Mill painting, which looks from the side of the bridge back towards the lock. The tow path had to be open, for horses to be able to tow boats along, today there are vast numbers of over grown tress blocking just about all views. This is the best corresponding view you can get toady, you can just see the start of the bridge on the left and part of the roof of the house. Move back to look over the lock now of a different design and we see less. We can see Bridge Cottage and the bridge from some other angles:-
